Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka will lead a new Cabinet Subcommittee tasked with reviewing the recent opinion of the Supreme Court on Fiji’s Constitution.
Cabinet was updated yesterday on the Court’s opinion delivered on 29 August 2025, which provides key guidance on how amendments to the 2013 Constitution should be interpreted and applied.
The Subcommittee, chaired by the Prime Minister, will examine the Court’s findings and recommend the next steps.
It will also consider both the practical realities and the views of the people in shaping the way forward.
The Government says this marks an important moment in Fiji’s constitutional journey and has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, dialogue, and inclusiveness in the process.
