Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has acknowledged the commitment of workers and the community of Narayabale in the completion of their new bridge that was officially opened today.
While speaking during the opening ceremony, Rabuka says they are grateful to the previous governments and planners for their vision to build a bridge from the other side of the stream.
The Prime Minister says the various accounts given during the presentation highlighted that lives were lost as some tried to cross the stream at the height of a flood.
Rabuka says they can only pray that God will give them the courage and strength to deliver what the people have voted them into Office for.
He further says now young people will be using the bridge to go and return from school, take produce to the market and bring back development to the village.
The Prime Minister highlighted that though this is a small project, it is a big step in the development of Cakaudrove.
The total cost of the construction of the bridge is $2.7 million.
