PM assures Fijians severely impacted by COVID-19 that government has their back
Bainimarama says that support has gone mostly to Fijians in the tourism sector, even those who have managed to secure work on the weekends.

More than 100,000 Fijians who have seen their livelihoods lost or severely impacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic have been assured by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama that government has their back.

Bainimarama says government has already directly paid out over $118 million in unemployment benefits.

Bainimarama says that support has gone mostly to Fijians in the tourism sector, even those who have managed to secure work on the weekends.

He adds it will continue.

Bainimarama says they are still pushing regional neighbours like Australia and New Zealand to open their doors and heart to a travel bubble with Fiji.
