Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has confirmed that he plans to be vaccinated as soon as he becomes eligible.
While speaking at the rebranding of the Nasese Private Hospital at Ratu Sukuna Road this morning, Bainimarama says lives, livelihoods and our place in the world’s recovery depend on it.
Meanwhile, Minister for Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete has confirmed that he, Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong and Chief Medical Officer Jemesa Tudravu will be vaccinated when the next shipment of vaccines arrive.
Dr Waqainabete says this is because they are part of the frontliners.
He has also confirmed that 6000 frontline workers have been vaccinated in Fiji.
The Prime Minister says we are at the most of a great global health challenge of our time but the availability of safe and viable vaccines has given the world new hope.
