With the growing stigma surrounding mental health discussions, the Pacific Media Assistance Scheme (PACMAS) has handed over new Mobile Journalism (Mojo) kits to support Communications Fiji Limited’s "Forget Me Not" documentary project.
Deputy High Commissioner of Australia, Claire McNamara, emphasizes that these Mojo kits will help break down stigma, enabling people to speak up, seek help, and share their stories.
During the handover, fijivillage News Director and CFL's Executive Committee member, Vijay Narayan highlighted that equipping CFL's Magic Factory with mobile journalism kits will support more inclusive, responsive, and community-centred storytelling and empowering them in the process.
He adds that the Mojo kits will help tell powerful stories, including the often-unheard realities of mental health, continuing CFL’s commitment to amplifying diverse voices across Fiji.
Narayan says a lot has to be done when it comes to mental health in Fiji, and more collaboration is urgently needed in this area.
The 5 part documentary is expected to be completed in March next year, and will be shared across fijivillage, CFL's radio stations social media platforms, Magic Factory's digital channels, ensuring the stories reach a wide and diverse audience throughout Fiji and the world
