The owners of three farms in Kadavu where more than 2,000 marijuana plants were uprooted last week are yet to be located by Police.

Police say the 300 marijuana plants were uprooted in Lavidi Village, 130 marijuana plants were uprooted in Vacalea and 1,500 marijuana plants were uprooted from a farm in Naikorokoro Village.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan says the momentum on the war on drugs will increase as we enter the festive season.

In the Northern Division, Police have arrested a 42-year-old Turaga-ni-Koro after they found marijuana during a raid conducted at his house in Loa Village in Cakaudrove.

Upon further investigations, Police also discovered a farm with more than 180 marijuana plants.

They believe the marijuana plants allegedly belongs to the Turaga-ni-Koro.

2,000 marijuana plants were also uprooted from Loa and Naqio Hills and near Vunikura Village in Cakaudrove. Five people have been charged and produced in court in relation to this case.

In Taveuni, a 15-year-old boy and a 26-year-old man were arrested and charged for their alleged involvement in drug-related activities while two farmers were arrested in Savusavu for similar offences.
