Outsource Fiji has launched the first-ever Women in Tech event that promises to be a game changer for the technology landscape in Fiji to celebrate the power and potential of women in technology.

Outsource Fiji Executive Director Sagufta Janif says the women in tech event is a call for action, an opportunity to empower and a celebration of incredible talents that women bring to the world of technology with the mission to empower women with skills, knowledge and confidence they need to shape the tech landscape of the future.

She says the event will also erase the gender gap and create an environment where every woman can thrive in technology and inspire the new generation of tech leaders including young girls who will play a crucial role in the growth of our economy by fostering interest in technology and ensuring a brighter and inclusive future.

Janif says the “WINTECH” Awards will be held at the Vodafone Arena on the 1st of December, and there will be 12 categories of awards including the Rising Star in Tech, Tech Changemaker Award, Gender Inclusive Tech Innovator, Problems Solving Prodigy, the Game Changer in Tech, Digital Visionary, Tech 4 Good, Tech Policy Advocate, Tech Entrepreneur of the year, Stem Education Champion, Digital Transformations TrailBlazer and the BPO lifetime achievement in Tech.

She says the nominations for the awards are open.

The Executive Director further says they are expecting around 8,000 female employees from 34 different Business Process Outsourcing and technology companies at the event.
