Our laws are still archaic and not suited to deal with transnational crimes - Seruiratu
Minister Defence, National Security and Policing, Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu

Minister Defence, National Security and Policing, Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu says that Fiji’s laws are still archaic and not suited to handle transnational crimes.

While responding to FijiFirst MP, George Vegnathan’s question on the implementation of the Palemo Convention on Human Trafficking, Seruiratu says at this stage, the government has approved a national action plan to deal with prevention, prosecution and partnership.

He says that one of the requirements of this plan is to support human trafficking survivors all the way to prosecution.

He adds that we need to adapt to changes in laws from around the world.
