No singing and dancing will be allowed in church services for now – Methodist Church President

The President of the Methodist Church of Fiji, Reverend Ili Vunisuwai confirms singing and dancing will not be allowed when church services start this Sunday in various churches around the country.

Reverend Vunisuwai says they will propose to the Ministry of Health for their followers to sing hymns while sitting in their own bubbles in the future but for now this is forbidden.

He says they had a meeting with the Ministry of Health yesterday where awareness was done regarding various protocols that have to be in place during church services.

He says they were also advised that police officers will be enforcing the protocols.

Reverend Vunisuwai says the protocols include only allowing fully vaccinated people, wearing of masks, 70 percent capacity, sitting in family bubbles and sanitising.

The President of the Methodist Church of Fiji says he will also be speaking to all responsible for the congregations tonight and lay down the rules.
