Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad stresses that there will be no mini-budget.
He say they have a very clear plan where the Economic Summit will be held on the 20th and 21st of April.
He says the budget process will start shortly, and the budget will be delivered in June or July.
Professor Prasad says that is the decision the government has taken.
He adds he and the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka were always clear but he thinks some elements in the media were confusing this.
Rabuka had earlier said they want to have a mini-budget as quickly as possible and he thinks it will be in the next parliamentary sitting in March.
Rabuka had said there will have to be a mini-budget because there is some reallocation that cannot be done according to law.
He said this will necessitate a supplementary or mini budget to be issued - as long as they do not have any extra funding.
