No girl should leave school because they are pregnant
Minister for Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete, Speaker of Paliament Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and Austalian High Commissioner John Feakes.

Health Minister Doctor Ifereimi Waqainabete says no girl or young woman should ever leave school or take drastic action just because they are pregnant.

He says they have contraceptives available to assist them to enjoy their sexual lives safely and reasonably while they complete school or tertiary education.

While speaking at the training of trainers for Family Planning at Holiday Inn, Doctor Waqainabete says the staff of the Health Ministry stand ready to assist our youth to practice safe sex and prepare for their journey of healthy adulthood.

Doctor Waqainabete says now more than ever it has become evident for people to plan their families, space their children as they are born so they are able to receive adequate attention and love.

If you are going through a tough time right now and need someone to talk to, please call the Lifeline Fiji support helpline on 1543.
