With the current challenges faced by the Animal Health and Production Division in Fiji due to a lack of resources, the provision of veterinary kits is expected to significantly boost their operations.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Livestock Extension Services Officer from Navua, Penaia Donuca says the kits will help ease their work in the field, where animal care demands a lot but is often hampered by insufficient equipment.

Donuca says that as part of the veterinary team, they need to be properly equipped to ensure their safety and effectiveness while working in the field.

Assistant Minister for Agriculture, Tomasi Tunabuna says the official handover of veterinary kits marks another important step in the carefully planned journey towards building a resilient and modern veterinary service system — one that is capable, well-equipped, and responsible.

Tunabuna says that the Ministry is investing in systems that support better diagnosis, improved treatment, and more positive outcomes.

He adds they are committed to the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of veterinary clinics and facilities because they believe their staff deserve safe, professional and well-equipped working environments — and their communities deserve top-quality care.
