Excitement is building as the Navtarang and Radio Sargam Thali Competition judging will take place tomorrow at our home at 231 Waimanu Road.
The Diwali Thali will include sweets and savory.
While speaking to fijivillage News, Radio Sargam Content Director, Sneh Chaudhry confirms that there will be seven participants who will arrive at the studios around 10am to set up their Thali displays.
She emphasizes that judges will assess each Thali based on taste and flavour, texture and consistency, presentation and appearance, innovation and originality and hygiene.
Chaudhry shares that the prizes are $500 for first place, $300 for second place and $200 for third place.
Meanwhile, members of the public can also participate in the Rangoli Competition, where families or individuals can create a creative Rangoli, take photos and send them in for judging.
She highlights that the Rangoli entries will be judged based on creativity and innovation.
Chaudhry encouraged participants to be as creative as possible with their Rangoli and make use of common household ingredients such as dhal and rice.
She adds that participants can also use flowers, paint, and tassels and add a traditional touch to enhance their designs.
Judging for the Thali Competition will begin at 11am tomorrow.
