Acting Corrections Commissioner Sevuloni Naucukidi has been given seven days to respond to multiple allegations against him.

This was confirmed by Prime Minister and Chair of the Constitutional Offices Commission (COC), Sitiveni Rabuka, when questioned by fijivillage News.

Rabuka says Naucukidi’s response will then be circulated to all COC members, who will each be given seven days to provide their opinion.

It is alleged that Naucukidi threatened to assault a staff member and harm his family.

A police complaint for alleged criminal intimidation has been filed against him.

In May this year, a video was also circulated widely on social media showing Naucukidi in a fist fight inside a nightclub in Suva.

He is seen throwing punches at another man before being restrained by bouncers.

At one point, Naucukidi is also seen attempting to punch one of the bouncers, while Fiji Corrections Service staff try to intervene.

We have sent questions to the Fiji Corrections Service.

They are yet to respond.
