Emoni Narawa will start for the Blues while Dan Carter's long-awaited Super Rugby return will have to wait after a calf injury ruled him out of the Blues' clash against the Hurricanes.
Carter was initially named on the bench for the clash, but felt a tightening of the calf during training yesterday and was later ruled out by coach Leon MacDonald.
Other top players that will start for the Blues are Beauden Barrett, Patrick Tuipulotu, Akira and Reiko Ioane and Mark Telea.
Rising star, Hoskins Sotutu has been ruled out due to a injury.
The Blues take on Hurricanes at 7.05pm tomorrow while the Chiefs will face the Highlanders at 3.35pm Sunday.
