The 40-year-old manager, Shonal Shiv Sharma from Tamavua, who has been charged with being in possession of 640.139 grams of imported cocaine, has been further remanded in custody.
Sharma is alleged to have been involved in the unlawful importation of the illicit drug between the 24th of last month to last Thursday.
Defence lawyer Feizal Haniff told the Suva Magistrates Court that he is seeking his client’s release on a $5,000 bail with three sureties.
Prosecutor Walter Taito did not object to bail but requested that strict bail conditions be imposed.
The matter will be called again tomorrow.
