People of Nakorotubu in Ra have raised concerns regarding the road conditions in their area and highlighted that Nakorotubu District School is located in a flood-prone area.
Villagers say they will need the Government’s assistance in improving facilities, drainage systems and a proper seawall behind the school buildings to address the issue.
During the National Development Plan consultation in the Western Division, villagers of Rokovuaka requested the Government to divert resources to farm access roads, as agriculture and market access is a crucial need for them.
The villagers requested the need for the Fiji National University and other institutions outreach team to reach the Tikina, especially, in terms of vocational learning.
The community also requested the need for a Water Treatment plant in Nalawa due to the threat of untreated water causing typhoid.
Both villages also raised connectivity issues and the need to improve health services.
Meanwhile, people from the Eastern Division raised the need to improve connectivity, road conditions and farm roads, and improvement in health services.
