Residents of Nadonumai settlement in Lami are preparing for what lies ahead if the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise in Lami.

The first COVID-19 case in Lami was identified in Nadonumai through the Navy cluster on 28th May.

Since then, this community has been working together to protect themselves and those most vulnerable.

Lolohea Umu lives in Nadonumai with her parents, husband and four children.

She says everyone in the community is being encouraged to change their mentality and adapt to the new way of doing things.

Umu says like her many residents in Nadonumai, are protecting their bubbles.

She says like her and her family, she has seen many people in Lami following the safety measures and hopes others will also do the same.

Umu adds the family is planning to get vaccinated this week.

She says because she has a 2 year old and still breast feeding, she has also been doing a lot of reading and asking questions about the vaccine.

She says for them, it is now about planning the safest way to get vaccinated and make a trip to the vaccination site this week.
