Divisional Police Commander South to look into the issue

Nabua family lives in fear after being threatened and claims that Police are not doing their job

A family living in the Muslim League Settlement in Nabua have been living in fear for the past few months because they claim that the Police do not care about the people they serve.

A 59-year-old resident says they received threats after raising concerns in their community meeting that people are selling marijuana and using drugs publicly.

The man who wishes not to be named says due to the threats they received, they have lodged complaints, filed reports and sent emails to the Fiji Police Force and the Minister for Home Affairs. He is requesting their help in resolving the issue.

He claims that the Police officer who has been their community coordinator for years, has been sharing rumours about their family, and causing hatred amongst their community.

This has ended up with their home getting stoned every day.

He also claims that the issues reported to the Nabua Police Station were ignored and has left them no choice but to live through the threats and fear.

The man is pleading to the Commissioner of Police to assist them in resolving their issues because they are living in fear while living in their own home.

When questioned by fijivillage News, Divisional Police Commander South, SSP Wate Vocevoce says he will be looking into the issues that has been raised by the Nabua family.
