More trainers expected for ANZ’s MoneyMinded Financial Literacy programme

Thirty-five people from six different organisations are being trained this week on how they can help people in their communities better manage their money through ANZ’s MoneyMinded Financial Literacy Train the Trainers programme.

ANZ Head of Centralised Lending and Corporate Sustainability Sitiveni Marovia says this training is so important now because of the impact of COVID-19 and the recent cyclones.

Marovia says they have received feedback that people that learned about the importance of financial well-being through the programme were able to immediately rebuild and get their children back to school after the cyclones.

He says these people had planned for the future and did not rely on assistance from government or non-governmental organisations.

In 2018, 3,284 people in Fiji participated in MoneyMinded.

According to ANZ’s MoneyMinded Impact Report on Fiji released in September 2019, 96 percent of respondents reported that MoneyMinded improved their financial well-being.
