More than 27,000 marijuana plants have been discovered on five farms in the highlands of Koroivonu Village in Cakaudrove.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan says more information has been received on the cultivation and trade of the illicit drug.

ACP Khan says in Kadavu, more than 4,000 plants believed to be marijuana were uprooted from an unknown farm in the Lawaki terrain.

In Nukuloa Village, three men were arrested after they were found with dried leaves and seedlings believed to be marijuana.

ACP Khan further says members of the public have been forthcoming with the sharing of information, and this is a massive help to their ongoing efforts.

He adds officers from the Police Special Response Unit are being deployed to assist in drug operations throughout Fiji.
