Permanent Secretary for Education Selina Kuruleca

The Ministry of Education is planning to review the automatic progression program for students from next year however Permanent Secretary for Education, Selina Kuruleca says she will talk about it later.

Kuruleca made the comments after fijivillage News talked to her about concerns raised regarding students still having less or limited knowledge of their school work when progressing further.

She says the current automatic progression of students allows them to continue with their education even though they fail until they reach Year 12 where the exam is compulsory.

Kuruleca says next year, there will be changes made with a new plan from the Ministry of Education.

She adds that they have done their research and have carried on with all norms for this year but will surely review every curriculum before it is removed.
