The Methodist Church of Fiji will not allow a Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender member to conduct ministerial duties but they can be a member.
President of the Methodist Church of Fiji, Reverend Ili Vunisuwai highlighted this in their conference meeting after the Christian church overseas allowed a LGBT member to conduct church services and ministerial duties.
Reverend Vunisuwai says during his visit to Australia, he was asked about the issue and where the Methodist Church stands if a LGBT member who is a marriage officer can conduct a wedding in their church.
In his reply, the President of the Church says they will not allow same-gender marriage but will accept them as a member.
Reverend Vunisuwai says the Methodist Church will take its stand from the teachings of the Bible and follow its Constitution.
