Melbourne construction sites shut after violent vaccine protest
Construction workers against mandatory vaccine requirements clashed with industry union members in Melbourne

Australia's Victoria state has shut construction sites across Melbourne following violent protests against mandatory COVID-19 vaccines.

The protest was against a requirement for staff to prove they had received a vaccine dose to access their workplace.

State officials told the BBC sites would remain closed for up to two weeks after construction workers clashed with one another over the coronavirus measure.

The property was damaged and police said several people were arrested.
