Block-busting Fiji Bati Prop and Melbourne Storm player Tui Kamikamica who hails from Taveuni visited his family in the village and also visited schools in his district inspiring them to follow their dreams and provide a better life for their families.

Kamikamica is a man of few words but his work rate on the field and personality off the field is something that the former NRL winner possesses that has seen him play for Melbourne Storm for the last 8 years.

Kamikamica is the 10th Fiji-born player to play 100 NRL games during his career when they played the Manly Sea Eagles during the Indigenous Round early this season.

During a visit to his village and home in Somosomo Taveuni, Kamikamica says in 2020 he was hit with an injury and could not walk, and immediately he thought that was the end of his career, but he gathered his thoughts and says he thought of his parents struggling at home and that gave him the mental strength to pull through his injury knowing no one else will support his family.

Kamikamica recalls leaving home for the first time was hard for him and he missed his parents so much but he had to go to provide a better life for his families.

He highlighted every time he plays, he tries to make his family proud.

Kamikamica made his NRL debut for the Storm in 2017 and has represented Fiji in two Rugby League World Cup tournaments.
