Mathematics and English curriculum for primary schools have been revised – Dr. Jokhan
Permanent Secretary for Education Dr. Anjeela Jokhan.

The Permanent Secretary for Education, Dr. Anjeela Jokhan says they have revised Mathematics and English curriculum for primary schools to fill the gaps that have been identified in the current curriculum.

She says this will build a much better foundation in literacy and numeracy.

Dr. Jokhan says they are now revising the English and Mathematics curriculum for secondary schools followed by the revision of the rest of the curriculum.

She adds they are also developing civic and morale education curriculum which should build good character and civic pride in our students.

Dr. Jokhan says the foundation for education has to be strong and therefore they are working on improving the early childhood education sector.

The Permanent Secretary for Education further says they are training their heads of schools in financial management to ensure they can manage their funds better and be more accountable for public funds. She adds they are also strengthening internal controls for better accountability.
