Matawalu learns a lot from experienced players
(L-R) Assistant Flying Fijians coach Daryl Gibson and Vodafone Flying Fijians halfback Peni Matawalu

Vodafone Flying Fijians halfback Peni Matawalu is grateful that he made the 36 member squad for the Pacific Nations Cup and he has been learning a lot from the experienced players.

He says this time last year, he was with the Fiji Corrections Service but he did not expect to celebrate his 25th birthday playing for the national squad.

Matawalu says they have been preparing well and are ready to take on Australia A this weekend.

Matawalu is a former Namosi Rugby player who joined the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua for this year's Super Rugby Pacific competition.

Fiji will face Australia A at 3.30pm this Saturday in Lautoka.
