Nathan Ake's late goal gave Manchester City their first victory in six visits to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and a place in the FA Cup fifth round.
City edged Spurs 1-0 this morning.
It was a bitter blow to the Spurs after a defiant rearguard action but just a reward for City, who had been the better side only to miss the opportunities that had come their way before Ake bundled home from close range.
In other matches, Sheffield Wednesday and Coventry City finished 1-all, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest finished the match nil-all, while Chelsea and Aston Villa also finished nil-all.
