A man who sexually assaulted his stepdaughter has been sentenced to 4 years and 6 months imprisonment.
While sentencing the man, Justice Thushara Rajasinghe says the man had meticulously planned and executed this crime when the girl was alone in the room.
He says the victim impact assessment states that the girl has been emotionally and psychologically affected and this crime has shattered her self-confidence.
The incident happened between March and June last year in Savusavu.
A non-parole period of 2 years and six months has been set.
