Youths residing at Makita Road, Narere put together a Fiji Day programme which involved a clean up campaign from Omkar Road junction to Makita Road.
This was done in keeping with the Duavata Community Policing Know Your Neighbour initiative.
The youths would normally meet after their daily volleyball sessions to discuss how to keep their communities safe by promoting community relations through various youth engagements.
Working with Police officers residing in the same area, the youths aim to empower other youths in taking the lead role of protecting their communities from criminal elements.
They are also being supported by former residents now living overseas.
