More than 468 families from Suva to Nadi who have been affected by the recent outbreak of COVID-19 have been assisted with food packs by Make a Difference-Fiji in the last four weeks.
Director Renu Singh says they have been receiving hundreds of requests from families around the country on a daily basis.
Singh says these people cannot go to work due to the containment zones and have been unemployed for around three weeks now.
She says majority of them have been affected by the second wave of the outbreak and have reached out to them through their social media platforms.
The organization is also urging people to avoid taking advantage of the situation because there are so many families who genuinely need help.
They say they are surveying everyone that reaches out and have noticed some people trying to take advantage.
The NGO say this is a hard time and they are also struggling to reach you all and are urging people to not be the reason why a genuine family desperately needing food misses out.
