Blues coach Leon MacDonald has spoken out on his frustration about Reiko Ioane's try that was disallowed by television match official during their 39-17 bonus point victory over the Highlanders at Eden Park yesterday.
After making a bust down the blindside, Akira Ioane believed he threw the perfect long pass off his left hand to send younger brother Rieko away for a try during the first half.
The TMO ruled the pass went forward.
MacDonald says for him, Akira was able to stay in front of the ball and it looked pretty good when it came out of his hands and these inconsistencies are what is frustrating.
He adds the try did not cost them as they were able to bounce back on a few calls and a few mistakes.
Meanwhile, the Crusaders are currently leading the Super Rugby Aotearoa points table with 14 points, the Blues are in second place with 9 points, the Highlanders are in third spot with 5 points, the Hurricanes and the Chiefs are in fourth and fifth place respectively with no points yet.
This week, the Hurricanes will take on the Chiefs at 6.05pm Saturday and the Crusaders will face the Blues at 2.35pm Sunday.
