There is no permanent staff being laid off at the Land Transport Authority.

This has been confirmed by LTA CEO Samuel Simpson who says they are still having discussions about reduced hours with named individuals who were given a letter.

He says there was no general circular sent out to all LTA staff about reduced hours or pay cuts.

Simpson says until such time the discussions with members of staff conclude, it would be improper to comment on anything as they are still talking to the staff.

When asked about claims made by SODELPA MP Aseri Radrodro for Simpson’s alleged $500,000 salary package to be reviewed and reduced to 50% to be in line with other government statutory bodies, Simpson only said the LTA is always under scrutiny.
