The Digicel Fiji Kulas have booked a semi final showdown with New Zealand in the OFC Women’s Olympics Qualifier despite going down 3-1 to the Solomon Islands today.

The Kulas qualified as pool runners-up after securing two wins in their earlier matches.

The Solomon Islands led 2-0 at halftime after forward Ileen Pegi scored a double in the 16th and 45th minute.

It was a much tight contest in the second spell as the Kulas came back to score a goal through Narieta Leba in the 80th minute to trail 2-1.

Pegi put the final nail to the coffin with a goal in the 90th minute to complete a hat trick and also help the team finish top of the pool.

The Kulas will take on New Zealand in the second semi final this Friday.
