Residents and drivers continue to raise concerns about the potholes along Khalsa Road in Tacirua opening every few weeks even after road works are being conducted.
fijivillage News assessed the road condition at midday yesterday and noticed that there are still multiple potholes on the road close to the Digicel Office.
However the contractors were doing patching works on the site.
A 23-year-old resident says that they don’t want to drive along that road anymore because of the deteriorating condition, and the potholes are still opening up every few weeks.
While responding to our questions, the Fiji Roads Authority says the contractors are currently completing the remaining works along Laucala Bay Road.
They say once this is completed, the contractors will move on to Fletcher Road and then progress to Khalsa Road as per their scheduled program.
The FRA further says their schedule for programmed works was significantly impacted due to the adverse unfavorable weather conditions in the past few weeks.
They add that there are ongoing civil works happening along Khalsa Road, including drainage works and installing V drains.
