Crusaders star outside back Will Jordan will miss the 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season-opener against the Chiefs next weekend after suffering an injury.
The 25-year-old is dealing with a lingering shoulder complaint and is being reviewed by the Christchurch-based franchise’s medical team.
Should the explosive outside back be sidelined for an extended stint, it would be a repeat of last year, when migraine-related symptoms caused him to miss the majority of the regular season.
Highlighted by Jordan’s injury, new coach Rob Penney is dealing with a bunch of injuries to key players a little more than a week out from their clash against the Chiefs in Hamilton.
The Crusaders will take on the Chiefs at 6.05pm next Friday.
Meanwhile, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will take on the Blues at 3.35pm in Auckland next Saturday in round 1 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby competition.
