The Chairman of the Jittu Crime Prevention Committee has reaffirmed their commitment in assisting the Fiji Police Force reduce crime in their settlement.

Isikeli Qaqa made the commitment during an awareness drive conducted in the settlement earlier this week in partnership with the Fiji Police Force, Ministry of Health and the Department of Social Welfare and the Lands Department.

Qaqa commended the awareness drive adding that most living in the settlement were concerned with the involvement of youths in illegal activities and were committed to working with stakeholders in reducing the crime rate in the area.

The Deputy Divisional Police Commander Southern Acting Superintendent (SP) Savenaca Vunisa stressed the importance of reporting any criminal issues while at the same time pleading for more community intervention and engagements

He urged residents to support the Jittu Crime Prevention Committee to help bring positive changes within their communities.
