Jale says the iTaukei blame the AG for all the problems they are facing while AG says it is Jale’s duty to tell them the truth
Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, Attorney General Aiyaz sayed-khaiyum and SODELPA MP, Anare Jale

SODELPA MP, Anare Jale has said in parliament that whenever he sits with the iTaukei, they blame the Attorney General for the problems the iTaukei are facing while Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says it is Jale’s duty as a member of parliament to tell them the truth and not to make it a racial issue.

While speaking during the debate on the amendment to the Immigration Act, Jale said he was concerned that some of his cousins who were born in Britain and were registered in the Vola Ni Kawa Bula (VKB) or the Native Land Register were not citizens of Fiji.

Jale then said the iTaukei are only blaming the Attorney General for causing such issues. He says they are not blaming any other government member for this.

Sayed-Khaiyum says iTaukei rights have never been better protected than after the 2013 constitution.

He says we will never have iTaukei land converted to freehold land, and he also raised the question why the opposition members are trying to shut him down when he is trying to speak.

Sayed-Khaiyum says anybody registered in the VKB and is below the age of 18 years has a right to gain citizenship through their parents and if they are over the age of 18 and have never been a Fiji citizen, they have a right to apply for citizenship.

Meanwhile Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama says Anare Jale’s comments has insulted all the members of the government side.
