USA sprinter, Gabby Thomas who grew up in Northampton, Massachusetts, and graduated from Harvard University, became a gold medalist this morning at the Paris Olympics.

Thomas launched from the start line with determination, taking a commanding lead in the women's 200 metres. She crossed the finish line in 21.83 seconds.

She says she was in complete disbelief and she knows she has earned it as she trained so hard for this, but there is no feeling like earning an Olympic gold medal.

She earned two medals at the Tokyo Olympics — a bronze in the 200 metres and a silver for the 4X100 metres relay — but this is her first gold.

Thomas had a major support crew behind her at the Paris Olympics.

The American sprinter, also had her boyfriend Spencer McManes cheering her on from the stands.

He attended Yale University, where he was the Bulldogs quarterback in his freshman year.

He remained on the team from 2013 until 2016, before graduating in 2017 with a bachelor of arts in Political Science and Government.

While working a corporate job, McManes also launched a non-alcoholic kava seltzer brand called Kaviva.

According to the company, the product is 'a kava-based sparkling water with enough kava in one can to create a mouth tingling sensation and euphoric buzz.'
