It’s a privilege to be part of the journey and entrusted with the new role – Cawanibuka
The new Head of Athletic Performance for the Fijian Drua Nacanieli Cawanibuka.

The new Head of Athletic Performance for the Fijian Drua Nacanieli Cawanibuka says it is a privilege to be called upon to be part of the journey and entrusted with the role.

He says it is rewarding personally for him to see players coming through their various domestic pathways and witnessing Fijians returning home to be part of the squad.

Cawanibuka says he can not wait to work with a world-class coaching group headed by Michael Byrne, a strong management team and an amazing group of talented Fijian players.

He adds these players will lay hands on the oars of the Drua, to set sail through the oceans of new opportunities and challenges to create a rugby legacy for fellow Fijians.

Fiji Rugby says as part of ongoing local development, Byrne and the Fijian Drua Staff will map post-season capacity-building programmes.

This will include extensive visits to and sessions with the coaching staff of Fiji’s 24 provincial teams who feature in domestic competitions.

The Fijian Drua will announce further coaching appointments in the coming weeks.
