Na Marama Bale Na Roko Tui Dreketi and SODELPA MP Ro Teimumu Kepa says it was only until she got into Parliament that she really appreciated women whom she took for granted.
She highlighted this during a virtual discussion to commemorate International Women's Day last night.
Ro Teimumu says this is also the first time she was surrounded by men who are over 90% of the parliamentarians.

She says she had always been surrounded by women as she was brought up in the village and attended an all-girls school where she was taught by Irish nuns.
Ro Teimumu says she was very privileged to have many women in her life who taught her to be honest, hardworking and have a life of integrity.
