Indian film - RRR’s “Naatu Naatu” song creates history at the Golden Globes

The song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from Indian film RRR has won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and has beaten the likes of Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Rihanna.

This is India’s first Golden Globe and the only Asian song to bag a win at the Golden Globes.

Music composer Keeravani Garu walked up to the stage to collect the award and delivered an emotional speech as director SS Rajamouli and actors Jr NTR and Ram Charan cheered on ecstatically.

The nominees in the Original Song category included “Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing by Taylor Swift, “Ciao Papa” from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio by Alexandre Desplat, “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick by Lady Gaga, BloodPop and Benjamin Rice and “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever by Tems, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Göransson.
