The Permanent Secretary for Health, Dr. James Fong says their surveillance system has recently reported an increase in dengue fever like illness in the Central and Western Divisions.
Dr. Fong says laboratory testing confirmation is underway.
He is advising people to be on alert as health care facilities have a lower threshold for the diagnosis of dengue fever, its management and also strengthening the implementation of source reduction measures.
