The Chairman of the Selection Panel of the next SODELPA Leader, Professor Tupeni Baba says he is a professional and is not against Sitiveni Rabuka or anyone else in the interview list for the party leadership position however he says SODELPA needs to deal with a small group of destabilising elements.
Professor Baba says he was the person responsible for the selection exercise before the 2018 general elections and Rabuka was selected as SODELPA Leader.

He says his stand has always been that he does not support coups.
Professor Baba says he and Emitai Boladuadua had earlier recommended that the destabilising elements be expelled from the party but unfortunately the SODELPA Management Board has not actioned it.
Professor Baba says he will not step down as Chairperson of the Selection Panel.
He confirms that the interviews have been done and they will submit their outcome to the party’s Management Board on Friday. SODELPA will have it’s AGM on Saturday where they wilkl announce the selected leader’s name.
Rabuka, Aseri Radrodro, Ro Filipe Tuisawau and Viliame Gavoka were interviewed for the SODELPA Leader position earlier this week.
