National Federation Party Leader Biman Prasad says he will give the specifics on which hospitals and health centres have a shortage of Panadol and diabetes medicines on Friday because he cannot comment on what is said in Parliament while the session is still underway.
Prasad had said in Parliament yesterday that a number of hospitals and health centres in the country have a shortage of these two medicines and the Minister for Health should look into it.
When questioned if he has the specifics on this, Prasad has told us that there is a shortage throughout Fiji and he will provide all the details on Friday.
Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong says the claims of shortage are not true.
Minister for Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says it is baseless to make a general comment on no Panadol and diabetes medicines.
Dr Waqainabete says Panadol is available and if it is not, then it is the responsibility of the administration of that particular health centre and hospital to get it.
