I will change my children’s school if things escalate at Mead Road – Vunibola

A parent of a Nabua Secondary School student is concerned about the safety of his children and is thinking of changing their school if the incident that occurred along Mead Road Nabua on Tuesday afternoon escalates further.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Jitoko Waisake Vunibola says what had transpired, should be a wake-up call to all parents.

Vunibola says he is concerned about the incident because this is his children’s first year in Nabua.

He says he enrolled his son in Nabua because of his education, and he loves to play rugby.

The concerned parent says he does not want to change his children's school, but he will do it because of their safety.

Vunibola is also calling on parents and guardians to be responsible and teach their children about good ethics and the consequences of their actions.

Meanwhile, Police have questioned eight students in regards to their involvement in the brawl.

Officers from the Southern Division visited the school and addressed senior students and held meetings with officials from the Public Rental Board.

Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu acknowledged the role of religious leaders for their support as the head of the Nabua Methodist Church Circuit, Reverend Tevita Vuniwaqa, has offered to convene a meeting with youths in the area.

Investigations continue.
