The Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration, Pio Tikoduadua, says he trusts the Commander of the RFMF, Jone Kalouniwai, and has assured the Commander that he has a great role to play for Fiji going forward.
He says the appointment of the Commander is done by the Constitutional Offices Commission, but he has full confidence in Major General Kaloniwai.
When questioned by the media if the Minister is aware of any other public service office holder who has resigned, such as the Fiji Corrections Service Commissioner, Frances Kean, Tikoduadua says he is unaware of such a thing, and the appointment of the FCS Commissioner is not under his ministerial assignment.
