I complied with all requirements when making claims - Radrodro
SODELPA MP Salote Radrodro

SODELPA MP Salote Radrodro has told the High Court that she had complied with all the requirements when making Parliamentary claims.

Radrodro is charged with one count each of False Information to a Public Servant and Obtaining Financial Advantage.

She is alleged to have falsely stated that her permanent place of residence was in Namulomulo Village, Nabouwalu, Bua and allegedly obtained $37,920.13 in parliamentary allowances between August 2019 and April 2020.

Radrodro says she enquired further information from the Secretary-General when filling her form and was advised to write a letter to the Secretary-General, explaining the reason for her relocation.

She says utility bills of her permanent home in Namulomulo were also required to be attached to this letter and also a letter from a community leader confirming the existence of the home in Namulomulo.

She adds that she complied with all the requirements.

Meanwhile, FICAC Commissioner Rashmi Aslam told Radrodro that according to the EFL records there was no consumption of electricity at their Namulomulo home for a long time. Radrodro said that the period Aslam was referring to was before 2018.

She agreed with Aslam that she does not own a key for their Namulomulo home but has a key for their Tacirua house.

The closing submissions will be made next Wednesday.
