The Chief of the Australian Defence Force General Angus Campbell says that he is extremely proud of the way the Republic of Fiji Military Forces and the Australian Defence Force link together and work in a smooth way.
While speaking at a dinner hosted by the Australian High Commission, General Campbell says he is in Fiji so that they can talk about how they can partner together as two military forces with much in common interest and desire for security in the Pacific.
General Campbell says he is also here to acknowledge the services of RFMF personnel in assisting Australia in the bush fires and flood and also the work that is done in the Solomon Islands.
He says he has also seen the development on the Black Rock Pre-deployment and Peace Keeping Centre and they are looking at plans for the development of the Maritime Emergency Services Centre.
General Campbell says he is delighted to see members of the RFMF on long term courses in Australia to continue their professional development.
RFMF Commander Major General Jone Kalouniwai says their involvement in all this work is a huge building block for the RFMF in terms of the way they move forward and how they see things in the future.
