The HSBC Hong Kong and Singapore 7s tournaments which were scheduled for April next year will now be played in October and November with the Hong Kong 7s acting as the Series finale.
World Rugby says this is due to the restrictions currently in place to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and with positive developments in the fight against the disease beginning to emerge.
Fiji is the defending champions of the Hong Kong 7s.
This season’s Sydney, Hamilton, Dubai and Cape Town 7s have already been cancelled.
World Rugby have also confirmed that a further update on scheduling for the Series will be provided early next year with a return to a full competition schedule anticipated for 2022.
